According to Pavel Durov, a French newspaper’s claim that his detainment forced Telegram to follow EU rules is false, as the app has always complied with European laws.
He explained that it was actually French authorities who started following the proper legal process after his detainment, allowing Telegram to provide criminal suspects’ IP addresses to the courts.
